Overview
What you will study
Many cultures and peoples around the world have used a variety of natural materials to create baskets that are both beautiful and utilitarian. Grasses, reeds, pine needles, and bark are just a few of the examples of items that can be dried and turned into baskets. While a variety of techniques exist to join these materials, the one the Coiled Basketry workshop offered by Trent University will focus on in this workshop is the coiling technique. This ancient technique involves making coils and stitching them together to make a basket.
