What you will learn
This Greenhouse Production in Aquaponics course offered by Lethbridge College covers a broad range of information, from which types of greenhouses and crops are most commonly used in the industry, to the different hydroponic growing techniques, and the main environmental parameters that affect plant production in the greenhouse part of your aquaponics system.
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- Identify the different types and structural materials used for greenhouse production and the advantages/risks of each
- Describe how a greenhouse environment influences the growing parameters and how these parameters are controlled through automation
- List the main greenhouse commercial crops and their respective culture techniques
- Relate how the greenhouse environment influences integrated pest management, irrigation, and plant nutrition
