What you will study
The Multidisciplinary Lens on Learning - From the Synapse to Society course offered by University of Queensland brings together education, neuroscience and psychology research to better understand the processes underpinning learning and the implications for teaching. You’ll be encouraged to reflect on your understanding of how people learn and use this reflection to develop your professional practice.
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- Explore what promotes and hinders learning from the synapse level through to the sociocultural level.
- Appreciate basic brain anatomy and physiology and what the evidence suggests about the developmental and environmental influences on the brain and learning.
- Develop an understanding of the processes involved in individual and collective learning.
- Comprehend the role of cognitive, affective, social and biological processes in learning and their role in attention, memory, learning regulation, social connection, motivation, engagement, well-being and achievement.
