What you will study
Students of the Nutrition - Healthy Eating course offered by University of Adelaide will learn about dietary guidelines and healthy eating; food composition including the six classes of nutrients and non-nutrient components of food; nutrient reference values; the major roles and functions of the principal nutrients and the metabolism of these nutrients in the human body; nutritional characteristics of the Five Food Groups; functional foods; concepts of energy balance; nutrient calculations; energy density of foods; assessment of diet quality and the relationship between diet, lifestyle and health. Each component of the micro-credential is divided into small, logically connected 'chunks' and includes short, interactive activities which allow you to revise and apply your new knowledge and skills to a real-life setting.
