Overview
This English Language Program from Arizona State University is developed for a wide range of learners at the basic, intermediate and advanced levels. In each course, all students will learn and improve upon the four core competencies of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
When you apply for Global Launch, you will choose to learn in the Global Launch Campus Immersion or Online Immersion English language program.
Language learning is more than reading, writing, listening and speaking. At Global Launch, you will communicate in social and academic settings, learn American cultural customs, write academic papers, and give university-level presentations. When you complete our program, you will enter the American university or workforce with the confidence you need to stand out and succeed in any English-language setting.
Key facts:
- Once you are admitted to Global Launch, you will take a placement test to determine which level you will begin your English studies. There are six levels and it takes eight weeks to complete each level. Short-term, 4-week study is available to online immersion students and campus immersion students.
- You will gain confidence to communicate in social and academic settings, participate in group projects, write academic papers, and give university-level presentations.

Global Launch is an accredited member of the American Association of Intensive English Programs.

Audience
- English language learners who seek an intensive learning experience in the United States or online.
- Completing the program grants English language proficiency waivers for admission to Arizona State University.
- Students who graduate from Global Launch earn a higher GPA in their university classes than other first-time ASU international students.
Lecturers
All English teachers have at least a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) and have experience in many different concentrations along with teaching the English language, such as business, psychology and engineering. General requirements
The Global Launch English language program is designed for any learner at any skill level.
Applicants are not required to take the TOEFL, IELTS, PTE or any other English proficiency exam for admission into Global Launch.
Campus Immersion applicants must at least be 18–years–old OR 17–years–old with proof of high school graduation and parental consent.
Online Immersion applicants must at least be 16–years–old. No parental consent or high school graduation required.
Technological requirements
Learners interested in our online immersion program are required to provide their own laptop or tablet device with a camera and microphone and access to strong internet connection.
