SNACing101- Nutrition Education Short Course for Early Childhood Education and Care Staff at Edith Cowan College is an evidence-based, nutrition education short course designed especially for Early Childhood Education and Care staff - it is suitable for all staff, including food coordinators, educators, directors, and administration staff. This course will support you to promote and provide a healthy eating environment at your service, and will provide you with the information, resources and confidence needed to bring about any changes that are required. Your nutrition knowledge will grow, and this will help you to support the health and wellness of the children and their families, and the wider community.

This course only takes 2 to 3 hours to complete and will provide you with the information and resources to confidently promote change and provide a healthy eating environment for children.Programme Structure
This evidence-based course offers three modules:- Food - basic nutrition concepts such as core food groups and serve sizes;
- Making Good Food Choices - understanding food labels, where to get nutrition information, and talking to parents about nutrition;
- At Your Service - focusing on the mealtime environment and the importance of good role modelling.
