Overview
What you will learn
Upon completion of the Turbulence Modelling course offered by Cranfield University you will be able to:
- conduct an effective CFD simulation of an unsteady turbulent flow;
- understand the underlying flow physics; make a trade-off between different applicable LES models;
- select an appropriate grid resolution based on the flow physics;
- and verify and visualise the simulation.
Programme Structure
The program focuses on:
- Unsteady flow physics
- The concept of filtering
- The LES and DNS methods
- LES modelling approaches
- Wall modelling
- Multiphase/multi-species mixing
- Analysis and visualisation of unsteady flow fields
