Overview
The Paediatric Oncology course from the University of Birmingham will describe the specific challenges and problems associated with the care and treatment of children with cancer, from the time of diagnosis to post treatment follow up.
It will explore the theory and practice of paediatric oncology with reference to the major groups of childhood cancers.
Key facts
70% of children survive a cancer diagnosis, and the importance of treatment toxicity, late effects and quality of life for survivors will also be discussed. The theory presented in lectures will be backed up by a practical laboratory session.
