Overview

Throughout all four weeks of this Geospatial Analysis with ArcGIS course offered by Coursera in partnership with UC Davis, learners work through a unique, end‑to‑end project, from conception and data retrieval to initial data management, processing, and final analysis outputs.

Learning outcomes

The course covers the fundamentals of geospatial and environmental analysis across four modules:
  • Week 1: Representation of spatial data and analysis of spatial relationships using ArcGIS Pro
  • Week 2: Network-based analysis
  • Week 3: Heatmaps and hotspot analysis in ArcGIS Pro
  • Week 4: Data storytelling, including visualizing data and sharing maps using ArcGIS Online

The course can be taken as a standalone offering or as part of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialization. Prior knowledge equivalent to the courses Fundamentals of GIS and GIS Data Formats, Design, and Quality is recommended before enrolling.

Completion of this third course in the specialization helps develop the skills required to progress successfully through the full program.
