Overview
About the project
Earthquakes that can be felt in the western part of the Arabian peninsula occur along the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aqaba and several volcanic fields. Deep knowledge of the seismic activity is fundamental to understand geodynamic processes such as continental rift and seafloor spreading but also to assess the seismic hazard that threatens Saudi Arabia’s megaprojects such as NEOM and the Red Sea Development. In this project, you will contribute to advancing our understanding of the processes causing the current seismic activity in the study area.
The Seismic Activity in the Western Part of the Arabian Peninsula (Internship) project is offered at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)
