The Virginia Commonwealth University English Language Program ’s mission is to provides support for students as they progress throughout the program.

Services we offer include:
- One-on-one tutoring sessions in all language skill areas. Students may schedule an appointment to meet with a tutor or may be referred for tutoring by an instructor.
- Language and academic advising to all students in the program.
- Numerous excursions and activities: trips to nearby attractions, cities, mountains, beaches, and historical landmarks (e.g., Washington, D.C., and Charlottesville).
- An international community through social and recreational activities offered by the Global Education Office and the University. These include Friendship Families, Global Cafés, and Conversation Partners, among others.

- Pronouncing American English Course
This course is designed to help students improve their pronunciation skills and develop fluency, clarity, and understanding of spoken English.
- Test Preparation Course
This course is designed to help students learn about TOEFL, IELTS, and other English language proficiency tests and improve their language skills before taking a test.
- English Grammar
This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop grammar skills and strategies for effective oral and written communication.
