Overview
In this Internet and Politics course offered at Sciences Po, students will develop a solid conceptual knowledge of the role of media in contemporary politics, from theoretical and empirical perspectives.
Objectives
Are digital platforms revolutionizing politics, or do they merely mirror existing power structures? The course examines the digital transformation of politics, focusing on how Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are reshaping governance, political competition, and society.
Through an interdisciplinary approach combining political science, communication studies, and data analysis, participants will explore the intersection of information technologies and political processes.
By engaging with research and real-world case studies, participants will develop the analytical skills needed to critically assess the impact of digital platforms on political processes, understand technological influences on governance and political campaigns, and explore emerging trends in e-government and the role of ICTs in voting behavior and social movements.
