Overview
They develop basic electrical skills, technical knowledge and related occupational information to prepare for initial employment in the electrical trade. Subjects to be learned include electrical safety, electrical math, basic electricity, electrical symbols and diagrams, Ohm’s law, direct and alternating current, basic single and three phase circuits, electrical meters, residential and commercial wiring, generators, motors, transformers, semiconductors materials, electrical troubleshooting, motor controls, basics of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and National Electrical Code (NEC).
