Overview
While in training, the Medication Aide programme from Kansas City Kansas Community College student will pass medication in the LTC under the supervision of the instructor, who is a Registered Nurse. Once all academic and clinical training are completed, the student will take the state certification test.
Key Facts
Kansas Department on Aging and Disability Services requires 75 hours for CMA. KCKCC requires 90 hours due to college credit requirements. Certified medication aides must complete 10 hours of continuing education every two years, per Kansas Department on Aging and Disability Services guidelines to continue passing medication. Students must pass a background check to complete the clinical portion of the course.
