You will have the opportunity to adapt a paper pattern to fit you, you also be shown how to put a fly front into a pair of trousers or a skirt. Whether you are looking to get into costume design, create your own fashion garments, or are just looking to make more sustainable choices by creating or repairing existing clothes within your wardrobe, this course is for you.
Key Facts
To participate in the Sewing - Intermediate programme from Guildhall School of Music & Drama, it is essential that you feel confident using a sewing machine, have used a machine to make basic items and understand basic sewing terms and how to do basic sewing tasks. For example, sewing straight lines, ending sewing using reverse button, sewing on a button, taking up a hem on an item of clothing, joining fabric together. It would be preferable that you have used paper patterns and constructed garments, and have put in a zip, however this is not essential and you will learn these skills on the course.
