Overview
Using project simulations and real life examples you'll be introduced to new thinking and key principles of Lean construction.
The Lean Construction course at Nottingham Trent University contains a wide variety of material that will equip you with the basic skills and knowledge to implement Lean thinking within your projects and organisation.
Outcomes
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

- the theory of production and Lean construction
- the importance of value, the customer and a new mind set
- an introduction to The Last Planner System
- Lean design and design management
- Lean commercial management and the Lean office

General requirements
- You should have a minimum of three years’ professional experience and have the support of your employer to integrate study and projects into your day-to-day work.
- You will probably be employed on significant infrastructure or building works, with experience of developing and coordinating projects.
- If you wish to receive credit, you should also have a 2:2 honours degree in a construction-related subject.
- Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications and/or relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis.
