Overview
Project and contract management is the study of planning, designing, procuring and administering construction contracts.
On this course at Nottingham Trent University you will study project management methods and the design of industry-standard forms of contract and assess the most appropriate mechanisms for dealing with disputes.
Outcomes
By the end of this Project and Contract Management course, you’ll be able to:
- advise on the most appropriate procurement route and form of contract for a given project
- articulate solutions to complex problems relating to the contractual administration
- synthesize knowledge across a broad range of contractual, health and safety and sustainability issues impacting on design and administration
- advise on the appropriate course of action during various RIBA stages of a project
- generate new ideas, innovations and solutions for problems
- communicate information, ideas and concepts effectively in clear, articulate fashion, using IT and aids where appropriate

- You should have a minimum of three years’ professional experience and have the support of your employer to integrate study and projects into your day-to-day work.
- You will probably be employed on significant infrastructure or building works, with experience of developing and coordinating projects.
- If you wish to receive credit, you should also have a 2:2 honours degree in a construction-related subject.
- Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications and/or relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis.
