Overview
Sharpen your Excel skills with this Foundations of Data Analysis using MS Excel course at BPP University. Learn how to build clean, efficient spreadsheets using formulas, formatting, and logical functions that save time and reduce errors.
What you will learn
This course builds a solid foundation in essential Excel skills, moving from core navigation and formatting through to practical data analysis techniques.
Learners will start by developing confidence with the basics: entering and organising data, using shortcuts, applying formatting, and working with absolute references to ensure formulas behave as intended.
The course then introduces logical statements and lookup functions, showing how Excel can be used to return results based on conditions and connect related information within a dataset. Building on this, learners explore key date and text functions that make it easier to clean, restructure, and work with data in a form suitable for analysis or forecasting.
The final segment covers additional tools for handling larger datasets, including functions such as SUBTOTAL and SUMIF(S), the use of structured Tables to support filtering and sorting, and an introductory look at PivotTables to summarise information quickly and effectively.
