Overview
Basic Excel functionality is covered with a mix of hands-on practical exercises in this one-day course. Delegates will be able to take their completed Excel files away with them for future reference. The skills taught on this course are pre-requisites for BPP's follow-on Financial Modelling and Data Analysis courses.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this Excel Essentials for Modelling and Analysis course at BPP University, you will be able to:
- Enter and edit data confidently in Excel
- Navigate the Ribbon and understand the difference between ribbon tabs and worksheet tabs
- Use shortcuts (rather than the mouse) to work more efficiently
- Apply basic formatting and presentation techniques to worksheets
- Perform simple calculations using formulae, AutoSum, and edited formulas
- Understand the difference between absolute and relative cell referencing
- Use basic functions such as copy, cut, paste, and basic logical statements (e.g., IF)
- Sort and filter data effectively
- Create simple charts and graphs to present data visually
- Print and save workbooks correctly for professional use
