Overview
Through the French Advanced Conversation (C1) from The University of Edinburgh you will consolidate and strengthen your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through a variety of learning activities in class and at home.
You will study, discuss and comment on authentic materials carefully selected to broaden and deepen your proficiency in French. Learning materials may include news articles, radio and TV recordings, reports, academic papers, extracts from literature and film clips. Class-based learning activities typically include giving a short presentation, taking part in a discussion or a debate. At home, you will have opportunities to practise your writing, and further opportunities to read or listen to authentic materials.
You will require access to a device with an internet connection. You will be provided with all necessary course materials.
In this course, you will continue to:
- Enrich your vocabulary, including idiomatic expressions and colloquialisms
- Develop your understanding of humour, irony and implicit cultural references
- Strengthen your competence to produce clear, smoothly flowing, well-structured language
