Overview
You will study a range of topics, develop your practical skills, discover your fitness/coaching potential and take part in a coaching placement.
This placement will take place once a week in local primary schools and will give you valuable practical experience in the industry and strengthen your employability skills.
To succeed in this Sport and Fitness Activity Leadership course at Edinburgh College, you must have good levels of communication, an active interest in exercise, fitness and working with children and be physically fit.

General requirements
Entry requirements:
- Three passes at National 4 in relevant subject areas, preferably English/National 4 Communication
- Appropriate experience would be helpful either from placements undertaken at school or other involvement in the industry
- If you do not have the formal requirements but you are a mature student, wanting to change career or have taken a career break to raise a family you are welcome to apply
- In these or other cases we would consider work experience, life skills and potential ability
Interview requirements:
- You will be invited to attend an interview where you will be expected to demonstrate a knowledge of and active participation in sport and fitness activities
- There will be a one to one discussion with a member of the sport and fitness team
- This may be achieved either face to face or remotely through a platform such as Skype
