General requirements
This course is for those looking to renew their expiring qualification, however those looking to undertake the course for the first time should have a recognised competence in a conventional fuel, i.e. gas (CCN1), oil (101), or solid fuel or a relevant plumbing qualification such as an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, as follows:
- NVQ Level 3/BTEC or equivalent
- Appropriate industry registration scheme: e.g. Gas Safe Register – ACS or OFTEC – 105E or equivalent
- At least two years industry experience of installation of domestic heating and hot water systems currently un-certificated skills equivalent NVQ Level 3.
- At least two years industry experience of design and advice services of domestic heating and hot water systems at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
