General requirements
This course is for those working with gas and who hold a current CCN1 certification.If your certification has expired by more than 12 months of the assessment date, it will be necessary to undertake the initial assessment.
The re-assessment can be taken up to 6 months prior to the expiry date of the initial qualification without losing out (MOT style).
Candidates who already hold CCN1 certificates and wish to extend their scope of work (i.e. have CENWAT and want to add CKR1) must provide to the Assessment Centre written evidence documenting the guided learning hours indicated in the About Course section. They will also require evidence to show that you have been registered on the Gas Safe Register for a minimum of 6 months (extension of scope only).
Engineers are classified into 2 categories:
- Category 1 – Experienced practicing gas fitting operative
- Category 2 – Applicant with relevant mechanical engineering/fitting qualifications/experience
