Overview
At the Safeguarding - Level 6 course from The University of Lancashire you'll consider the duties, process and complexities of safeguarding others in health and care practice. You will apply your learning to practice, as you consider appropriate strategies to ensure the safety and protection of children and vulnerable adults.
Key facts
You'll learn about safeguarding children, adults with disabilities, older adults and refugees. You'll also learn about safeguarding in specific scenarios like domestic abuse, online grooming and PREVENT.
This short course will include lectures, discussions, activities and online resources. You'll contribute to sessions using your personal and practice experience. Safeguarding is a complex area, so you'll need to read research around the subject.

- Critically appraise the historical, legal and political influences and resultant policies in relation to safeguarding.
- Evaluate your role within a multi-disciplinary team in the safeguarding arena.
- Critically discuss the importance of record keeping.
- Reflect on the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safeguarding interventions.
