Overview
In this Art and Design - Introduction to Jewellery course at City of Glasgow College you will be encouraged to develop your own creative ideas and will be taught how to translate these ideas into finished, 3D pieces of work.
The course will cover basic areas such as developmental drawing, body adornment, using non-precious materials and design work. There is a strong ethos of ethical making and sustainability, which will be embedded into your learning.
After the course
- Options are open to progress onto employment in the industry or setting up in self-employment.
- After the NQ you can apply to progress onto the two year HND Jewellery Arts and Technology or the HNC Applied Arts.

Minimum entry requirements
- National 5 Art and Design and National 5 English at Grade C or above; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
- You'll be invited for a group and/or individual interview where you can find out more about the course and tell us why you're interested in this subject area or we'll make an offer based on your application form.
- You'll be asked to provide examples of your art and design work.
- Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.
