On successful completion of this module you will be able to:- Assimilate, synthesize, and systematically apply the relevant normal physiological mechanisms and the related anatomical and pathophysiological processes that underpin gastrointestinal disorders.
- Critically appraise and apply the evidence base that underpins the care management of patients with gastrointestinal disease.
- Critically evaluate the knowledge and skills needed for the comprehensive assessment, planning of care, delivery and evaluation of care for patients with gastrointestinal disease.
- Critically consider and evaluate the contribution of nursing and other professional groups in the management and delivery of effective care to patients with gastrointestinal disease.
- Examine and analyse the factors influencing health care for patients with gastrointestinal disease (e.g. cost, efficiency, quality and resources available).
