Overview
You learn how to create a learning environment that supports your development as a leader and role model with capabilities in designing, implementing and evaluating practice learning. You will develop skills in development of work-based learning in health & social care settings, for colleagues, patients and their carers.
This will help you to create an environment that maximises learning & partnerships across the Health & Social care system to overcome identified barriers in education delivery with a solution focused approach.

This Education in Practice course at the University of Salford can support progression into a range of practice education, teaching, and leadership roles, particularly within healthcare, social care, and community settings. Typical career pathways include:

The module also provides a strong foundation for further academic study, professional recognition (such as PSF-aligned teaching roles), and progression into leadership or advanced practice roles where education and learning are central responsibilities.

- Power in the teacher/patient, staff or co-learner relationship and its influence on practice

- Historical development of practice focused learning: and links to simulated learning environments
- Relationship between education and practice developments in creating organisational change
- The role of service users in the education of practitioners
- Education principles in patient/client involvement in their own care
