Overview
In the Research Methods module at the University of Salford, a mixture of lecture and seminar sessions will be used to introduce the idea of doing research and the methods and theoretical frameworks needed to design a successful project.

You will develop your understanding of the importance of interdisciplinary research, and the value of using different methods to elicit different types of data, leading to a well-informed research project proposal and design.
Programme Structure
You will:- Be equipped with a range of research techniques appropriate to acoustics, audio and video
- Develop your understanding of the relationship between research question, research methods and analysis techniques
- Be able to critically analyse and apply several research methods, and evaluate the relative merits of quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Gain essential experience in using a range of research methods to investigate a specific problem
- Learn to systematically apply this knowledge to a complex research problem by devising a research project where the methods fit the research question
