Overview

Leading and Managing Education Change at The University of Exeter is aimed at teachers, lecturers, administrators, education advisors, and other related professionals. It will provide students with an opportunity to develop skills in the monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning and the confidence to facilitate educational change in a range of institutions.

What will I learn?

Leading and Managing Education Change will develop student’s understanding of change in educational institutions and their own potential to manage and lead such change within and between such institutions. Students will explore the qualities, competencies and behaviours associated with performing leadership and management roles and coaching, as well as a consideration of the moral, social, economic and political dimensions of such activities.There will be a particular focus upon the leadership of learning and the assorted technologies and techniques that seek to change and enhance learning outcomes and processes. These will include a critical evaluation of approaches to raise learner achievements and the associated use of data, target setting and learner/institutional monitoring. 

Programme Structure

Curriculum includes:

  • For this course, you should expect to engage in structured learning activities for 10-15 hours per week on average, plus additional time spent on self-directed learning (such as further reading or preparing for assessments).
  • The taught course can be completed in 12 weeks, with the final submission in week 11. Marking and feedback are provided after this, in line with University policy.
