Strong Business Program
I am currently studying Business at McMaster University and overall Ive had a positive experience so far. The program has a good balance between academics, group work, and real-world business concepts, especially in areas like finance, operations, and management. Many professors are knowledgeable and supportive, and there are lots of opportunities to get involved through clubs, networking events, competitions, and internships.
One thing I really like about the university is the campus atmosphere and student community. The campus feels welcoming, and there are always activities happening. The DeGroote School of Business also encourages teamwork and professional development, which helps students build communication and leadership skills.
A downside is that some courses can feel heavily theory-based, and internship opportunities can be competitive, so students need to take initiative outside the classroom. However, if you are motivated and involved, there are many ways to grow personally and professionally here.
Overall, I would recommend this university to students looking for a strong business education and an engaging campus experience.

Course Offerings
My experience so far has been generally positive. I am doing a degree completion program, which has been such an amazing opportunity to combine college and university experience. I am even able to expand on this with a new, exciting minor program that will help my career. Overall, the range of programs and offerings here is amazing. I do wish there was better faculty for the degree completion programs. They employ some college professors who are not qualified to teach at the university level/were not prepared to do so. I have had some excellent professors, but I also had one awful, disorganized professor who made the course a huge struggle for everyone. He has been doing this for a while, and I know the university has not kept and will not keep him in check despite consistent bad feedback. I pay too much to have profs like this. It's unacceptable.
The Global Student Satisfaction Awards empower students across the globe to determine the best universities of 2025. Universities with a score above 4.0 (out of 5) in any of the 7 award categories, receive Badges of Excellence. Congratulations!
