The research we do at UEL makes a difference, and not just here in east London. We help people live better lives all over the world. From influencing policy on conflict resolution, to conserving UK peatlands and helping people with special needs live more independent lives – UEL research achieves positive social change.

We’ve recently invested £3million into new high-tech student helpdesks to ensure you have access to the best possible information, advice and support. Whatever questions or issues you may have, we’re always here to help you. We also provide extensive academic support to help you with your studies, including academic advisors, peer support and study skills sessions.
Housing services
Our iconic Student Village is located by the waterfront at our Docklands campus. Transport connections are excellent, with a DLR station at the entrance to the Docklands campus. Accommodation is available to UEL students studying at Docklands or Stratford campuses.

Library services
Our Library and Learning Services provide access to high-quality academic resources, expert advice, and study spaces in modern library buildings on both Stratford and Docklands campuses, open 24/7 during term time. Our teams include Library staff, Academic Skills tutors, English for Academic Purposes tutors, Peer mentoring Scheme, Learning Achievement assistants and the Language Centre.
ICT services
Our IT Services Team provide expert advice for our IT systems and software, in support of all UEL students and staff. Based across all three campuses, they are responsible for IT Support, operations, information systems and infrastructure.
Medical services
Our Health & Wellbeing Team are on hand to support your health and well-being during your time at UEL. We offer confidential help on a range of physical and mental health issues as well as advice on where to obtain specialist support.
Campus life
Docklands Campus
- Our waterfront Docklands campus provides a state of the art learning environment with modern lecture theatres and seminar rooms, a 24/7 library. UEL is one of the few London universities to provide on-campus accommodation which houses over 1,200 students, as well as shops, a bar and a launderette.
Stratford Campus (Water Lane)
- Our Stratford campus is located in one of the best-connected areas of London: close to Stratford’s thriving town centre, the 2012 Olympic Park, and just 15 minutes from London’s West End.
Stratford Campus (University Square Stratford)
- Part of our Stratford campus, University Square is a unique partnership with Birkbeck, University of London.
Sports facilities
SportsDock is our £21 million sports facility. It's one of London’s largest indoor sports venues. SportsDock is available to students, staff, the local community, and national and international organisations. It was the official high performance training headquarters for Team USA, hosting them for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Student clubs
As a student at UEL you’re automatically a member of the Students’ Union. Your membership is free and brings with it opportunities for you to get the most out of your time at university. Joining a student society is a great way to make new friends, try out new activities, and get involved in some of the events that go on around campus.
