In 1987 Curtin University of Technology became Western Australia’s third university and Australia’s first university of technology. Curtin made the transition from the Western Australian Institute of Technology to a university with the passing of an Act of Parliament in December 1986, accepting its first students as a university in 1987.

The Graduate Research School (GRS) supports our higher degree by research (HDR) students and staff by providing advice on HDR scholarships, training programs, policies and processes.
International applicants must satisfy the enrolment requirements and pay the fees as indicated in the Letter of Offer received from the International Office. For international students who will be undertaking their studies in Australia, upon confirmation of all fees paid the University will send a Confirmation of Enrolment. This document must be presented to the consulate in your home country in order to obtain a visa for entry into Australia.

The largest campus, Curtin Perth, is located in the suburb of Bentley, about six kilometres south-east of central Perth. In close proximity to everything Perth has to offer, it boasts 116 hectares of bold architecture nestled amongst beautifully landscaped gardens. Thousands of students fill the campus grounds every day of semester, creating a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere. Over the past decade, the campus has undergone some major changes, with a variety of stunning modern buildings now interspersed with the original 1960s architecture. The majority of Curtin courses are delivered on this campus.
