For over 50 years, Flinders has been a centre of inspiring achievement: from our pioneering research and excellence in teaching to the positive impact we have in the communities we serve.  The University was established in 1966 on the lands of the Kaurna nation.

Student services

  • ISS supports international students in their study and social life at Flinders. International Student Advisors are also available one-on-one for study, accommodation, welfare and Visa enquiries.
  • The Flinders Connect team can assist you with student administrative requirements including; accepting your offer, enrolment, class registration, fees, scholarships and general information about life at university.

Housing services

Experience the community and convenience of living on-campus. With a five-minute walk to your classes, a tight-knit family and fun extracurriculars, there are plenty of reasons to live at Flinders University. We have a safe, supportive and dynamic community of over 560 students.

We’re not just the only South Australian university with on-campus accommodation in the Adelaide metro area. We’re also 20 minutes by bus from the city and some of Adelaide’s best metropolitan beaches. Plus we have many great eateries and services on campus.

No matter your interests, you’ll find something you love from the range of social, sporting, academic, cultural and philanthropic activities on offer.

Library services

Flinders Library staff can help you navigate the wealth of information available across the branches, including electronic collections and more than a million books and journals. 

ICT services

  • The eduroam wireless network is an international roaming service for secure wireless connectivity, which has been developed for the research and education community.
  • Computers are located on all floors of all the Flinders University Library branches: Central, Medical and Sturt. Availability will vary according to student demand and library classes. 

Medical services

The health service provides emergency and routine medical care, as well as other services such as:

  • First aid
  • Health screens (pap smears, skin checks, cholesterol, STDs etc)
  • Staff medicals
  • Minor surgery
  • Health education
  • Vaccinations (both for health care work and travel)

Campus life

Whether you are enjoying the leafy surrounds of the Bedford Park campus, immersed in the CBD at Victoria Square, or contemplating the industries of the future at our state-of-the-art Tonsley facility, Flinders prides itself on offering students a great on-campus experience.

There’s also the option to study online, giving you the flexibility to learn whenever and wherever you’re located.

Sports facilities

A bright, sun filled group fitness room for our classes or a fully equipped cardio room, ride with the peleton spin room, or hit the well equipped free weight and pin-loaded general gym. With a separate ladies only gym too, the centre is a pleasant and welcome surprise to all who come across it.

To maintain health and fitness and keep it accessible and interesting wellness programs are offered, at very low cost, including the very popular Zumba, Yoga and Boot Camp.


Many courses at Flinders are externally accredited by professional bodies. Quality assurance by external agencies is an important element of a robust quality assurance framework.
