Student Life

Campus life

Studying in Queensland

Queensland’s beautiful climate inspires an outdoor lifestyle and is another reason students choose to study at Griffith University’s Brisbane and Gold Coast campuses. From world class beaches to beautiful hinterland hikes, with several urban precincts peppered throughout, time spent outside of students’ study is truly memorable.

CAMPUSES & FACILITIES

Our six campuses are a thriving network of learning and innovation.

Spanning three cities in South East Queensland, our five physical campuses are located at Nathan, South Bank, Logan, Mount Gravatt and the Gold Coast. Our digital campus is located at your fingertips and spans the globe. Each campus environment, whether physical or digital, has state of the art facilities, and support services to make university life easier and enjoyable.

Nathan and Mount Gravatt

Originally opened in 1975 with a cohort of 451 students, Nathan is Griffith’s most historic learning ground. Almost 50 years later, the campus now hosts more than 13,000 students enrolled in degrees in business and government, engineering and information technology, environment, humanities and languages, law, and science and aviation.

Nathan campus is our home of world-class teaching and research on the environment, corporate sustainability, Asian studies and the emerging biosciences. Here, you’ll find the six-star, green-rated Sir Samuel Griffith Centre—Australia’s first teaching and research building driven by solar power and hydrogen energy—and our recently completed, state-of-the-art Engineering, Technology and Aviation building.

Students starting at Nathan and Mount Gravatt in 2024 can expect to be among the first to benefit from new, improved facilities set to be built at our foundation campus. At Nathan, we’re developing a new 22,000 sqm flagship building, N82, which is set to entirely reshape the campus’s arrivals plaza.

Logan

Logan campus is an active and respected incubator for innovative partnerships and industry engagement. The campus has strong connections with the local community, hosting numerous sporting and cultural events throughout the year. With a range of degree pathways available for prospective students, the campus is a leader in flexible learning options.

South Bank

Located in Brisbane’s picturesque South Bank Parklands, the South Bank campus encompasses the Queensland College of Art, the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith Graduate Centre and the Griffith Film School, with a population of 3,400 students. Ideally positioned in Brisbane’s cultural heart, the campus is a 10-minute walk from the Brisbane CBD and is adjacent to the Queensland Art Gallery, the Gallery of Modern Art, the State Library, the Queensland Museum, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities and teachers at the cutting-edge of their field. The campus also hosts a variety of shows and exhibitions that are open to the public throughout the year.
