History
The story began 130 years ago, in a sandstone building overlooking Hobart. Since those early days, with three lecturers teaching eleven students, our purpose has remained the same. Through academic excellence, we make our home, and the world, a better place.
Education
When you’re in one of the world’s most amazing places, you need to get outside, explore and live while you learn.
That’s why the courses give you the opportunity to explore nature and access adventure while you study. Field work and hands-on learning will take you all over the incredible island.
Research
As an island with unique advantages and challenges, we’re not afraid to do things differently. It’s our mission to help Tasmania understand its history, identity, environment, and future. The research mission meets the needs of Tasmania and contributes globally in areas of distinctive advantage.
