They measure the rate of students going to their second year of studies, as well as the rate of students who graduate. It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.

- J. Murrey Atkins Library offers over 3.8 million volumes, including 1.2 million e-books, over 650 databases, and approximately 222,000 journals, the vast majority available electronically.
- The building has 285,000 square feet with 1,928 seats and 324 computers available for student use. We have approximately 1.5 million visits per year. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
Medical services
- The UNC Charlotte Student Health Center (SHC) provides primary medical care, disease prevention, health education, wellness promotion, and various specialty services to all registered UNC Charlotte students, regardless of the type of health insurance they carry.
Campus life
- While it began offering just evening classes taught in the facilities of Charlotte Central High School, the storied institution has grown into the region's preeminent research university on a beautiful, vibrant 1,000-acre campus designed to meet the needs of a new era.
Sports facilities
- 4 multipurpose courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton and pickleball
- Outdoor basketball, pickleball and sand volleyball courts
- Indoor and outdoor leisure pools featuring a vortex loop, 4 lanes for lap swimming (25 yards), and zero depth entry
- Over 30,000 sq. ft. of dedicated space for fitness equipment. Additionally, the facility includes group fitness and multipurpose studios, a personal training assessment space, an elevated track and an indoor turf area
- Locker rooms on the 1st and 3rd floor including 4 single use accessible locker/changing rooms
- Three outdoor terraces with views of the campus and the outdoor pool
