History
The Weizmann Institute was founded by Dr. Chaim Weizmann (1874-1952) in 1934 as the Daniel Sieff Research Institute, named in memory of the son of U.K. donors Rebecca and Israel Sieff. The Institute was renamed in honor of Dr. Weizmann in 1949.

It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.

The Weizmann Institute of Science provides accommodations to International Visiting Scientists, International Postdoctoral Fellows, and International students, subject to availability.We currently operate 44 apartments for Visiting Scientists, over 150 beds for Postdoctoral Fellows and over 140 beds for students.
