At the University of Nottingham we are committed to the provision of an excellent educational experience in a campus environment led by academic staff who are themselves leading research that will address some of the major challenges confronting our global society.



Nottingham's first civic college was opened in the city centre in 1881, four years after the foundation stone was laid by former Prime Minister, W E Gladstone. In 1948, the college was awarded the Royal Charter and became The University of Nottingham, now able to award degrees in its own name.


Consistently ranked in the top 100 Universities worldwide, we offer a range of study opportunities for students from foundation level courses through to doctoral degrees. A broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are available from different specialist schools and departments across the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Engineering and Science. We host a community of around 5000 students from over 85 different countries worldwide who work with and receive a world-class higher education experience from leading academics in their field. The campus provides excellent teaching, learning and research facilities including a well equipped library, dedicated study areas and computer, language, and science and engineering laboratories.

Nottingham graduates are widely regarded as being well-trained and of high quality, and are in an excellent position to obtain rewarding, interesting, and well-paying jobs.With the combination of specialist optional topics offered in years two and three as well as the final year research project, students are encouraged to develop their own individual areas of interest that will allow them to pursue their career of choice.


Student services

The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus works with a number of international academic services, educational agencies and counsellors in countries across the globe. These agents and counsellors can help you find the right course, and offer support and advice through the application process.

The staff at the University's International Office work closely with all our representatives, ensuring that they are able to give you the most up-to-date advice on everything from scholarships to visa applications and admission deadlines.

Most of our overseas representatives have offices in a number of cities and countries.

Housing services

In September 2005, the Malaysia Campus moved to its new purpose-built campus at Semenyih, 30km south of Kuala Lumpur city centre.

A picturesque location spanning across 125 acres and overlooking green hills, the campus was designed to mirror the attributes of University Park in the UK. As a self-contained and self-sufficient neighbourhood village within a garden environment, it is now home to more than 4500 students.

Library services

The Library is responsible for managing information resources for learning, teaching and research and providing support on their use. The core collection covers materials that meet the taught courses offered by the university with generous allocations in developing resources required for research purposes

ICT services

Student Network Services (SNS) is a high-speed internet connection for students living in the halls of residence of The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus.

All campus halls have access points that broadcast WLAN connection to the residents.

Medical services

The Health Centre is operated by Kumpulan Medic, an independent health provider, whereby a fee will be charged for consultations.

If required, the centre is also able to dispense medicines and arrange for laboratory tests.

Campus life

The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus offers a range of services and facilities for our students. Aside from state-of-the-art library, the university also excellent non-academic facilities such as a cafe and extensive sports centre to make life on campus more enjoyable.

Sports facilities

The emphasis on sporting excellence can be seen throughout the University. The use of the sports facilities is free of charge and available to all staff and students. 

The Sports Centre offers numerous sports amenities:

  • two squash courts
  • badminton hall with two courts
  • sports hall with 6 badminton courts, two basketball courts, two volleyball courts, netball court & futsal court
  • gymnasium with treadmills, rowing machine, bikes etc.
  • two outdoor tennis courts
  • outdoor multipurpose court with basketball, volleyball & futsal
  • outdoor multipurpose Bermuda field with two football field, rugby & cricket pitch
  • Martial Arts Room 
  • outdoor astro turf with five-a-side futsal and hockey pitch
  • jogging track around the lake

Student clubs

The Student Association is at the heart of student social life with different clubs and societies to suit every preference.


Nottingham University Business School has been awarded renewal of a major independent accreditation, EQUIS, for the maximum length of five years. This achievement places the School among a select global group of business schools which hold the full five-year accreditation. Extensive visits earlier in the year by an international EQUIS peer review team assessed all the School’s operations in the UK, China and Malaysia.
