University of Messina

The local Studiorum Universitas was formally established by Pope Paul III in November 1548, although the city of the Strait boasts an ancient cultural tradition as well as a teaching tradition connected to a law school in the late 13th century and a well-known Greek school in the 15th century.

The Faculties:

  • Human, Political and Social Sciences
  • Formal and Experimental Sciences and Technologies
  • Life Sciences

The University of Messina promotes actions to encourage projects in research, both academic and collaborative, to grasp and enhance all funding opportunities offered nationally and internationally. In fact, scientific research is increasingly supported by the public funding system (Regions, Ministries, European Union), private (industry and private donors) and philanthropic (Foundations and Associations) through competitive calls for funding dedicated to the development of projects.
