Since Bede's Summer School was launched in 1993, we have been fine-tuning what makes a first class Summer School. This involves hand-picking the best centres to ensure that every student experiences a stunning location and fantastic facilities and of course, providing outstanding pastoral care.
Academies are for students with a special interest in receiving professional tuition in a range of sports, art, drama and other leisure pursuits.
Students may choose one Academy per week and lessons usually take place in the afternoon, in place of the regular afternoon sports / activities.

Arts:Bede’s staff are residential and live and sleep in the same boarding houses as the students. They are available 24 hours a day to deal with any problems that may arise, even in the middle of the night.
Each boarding house has a dedicated House Parent who is responsible for the smooth running of the house and for students’ comfort and well-being within the house. There are daily house registers and meetings to ensure all students are present and aware of the day’s schedule.
A laundry service, overseen by the House Parent, is offered to students at least twice per week and is included in the fee, with the exception of Brighton, where students do their own laundry at their own expense.
A huge part of what they offer is the chance to have fun, and they ensure that, through balancing different nationalities and demographics, and through a programme designed to encourage social interaction and integration, all students feel like they are part of a happy family. Simply put, Bede’s Summer School creates the most immersive experiences and inspires students to embrace each and every opportunity.
