Advocated by overseas Chinese groups, Jinan Academy, the predecessor of Jinan University, was founded in Nanjing in 1906 as part of late Qing Government’s education reform. Situated in the Yangtze River Delta -- China’s richest region -- that city later became the capital of the Republic of China.
The student dormitory is the public place for learning and living on campus. There are 22 dormitory buildings on campus, which are Jianyang, Zhenru, Jingling and Zhouzhuan zone. The Center for Education & Management Dormitory Affairs, the office in charge of student dormitory, is located on the ground floor of Jianyang 16th.
