Florida Institute of Technology

History

Florida Tech was founded in 1958 as "Brevard Engineering College." It all started as an idea in the mind of Jerome P. Keuper, Ph.D., a visionary physicist working at Cape Canaveral (now NASA Kennedy Space Center).

Education

Florida Tech comprises four distinct academic colleges, each with a strong focus, as well as an interdisciplinary honors college. Explore the colleges to learn more about the schools, departments, research centers, laboratories and programs housed within.

Research

It is through research that faculty members advance their fields, students enhance their learning, and the university creates change for the benefit of our planet and all of its inhabitants. Every day, pioneering faculty and dedicated students work to uncover the mysteries of phenomena like lightning, autism and supermassive black holes, and to find answers to questions such as, “What can be done to mitigate species decline in the Indian River Lagoon?” and “Should airplanes be piloted from the ground?” or “How can we sustain human life on Mars?”

Career

Career Services provides career and job search services to Florida Tech students and alumni. Our mission is to help students in the development of career plans and job search skills. Career Services acts as a liaison among Florida Tech students, alumni, faculty, staff and employers.
