Florida Institute of Technology’s mission is to provide high-quality education to a culturally diverse student body in order to prepare students for entering the global workforce, seeking higher-education opportunities, and serving within their communities. Florida Institute of Technology was founded In 1958 to provide advanced education for professionals working in the space program at what is now Kennedy Space Center.


As an international technological university, Florida Institute of Technology offers undergraduate programs in science, engineering, aeronautics, business, humanities, mathematics, psychology, communication and education (science and mathematics); master's programs in science, engineering, aviation, business, psychology, communication, education (computer, environmental, mathematics, science and teaching); and doctoral programs in science, engineering, psychology, and science and mathematics education.

Career Management Services provides career and job search services to Florida Institute of Technology students and alumni. The mission is to help students in the development of career plans and job search skills. Career Management Services acts as a liaison among Florida Tech students, alumni, faculty, staff and employers.

Florida Tech is very proud of its student housing because it's more than just a simple room or apartment. A variety of Services and activites are provided that make it feel more like a community. The campus continues to renovate and upgrade facilities to meet the ever-changing needs of our student body.

Library services

The mission of Florida Tech Libraries is to enable our students and faculty to positively influence the society in which they live by creating an exceptional learning and discovery environment. The Libraries will enhance their support by creating and sustaining an intuitive and trusted information environment in a culturally and technologically superior setting.

Medical services

Student health insurance is MANDATORY for full-time undergraduate (12 or more credits) and graduate (9 or more credits) students, including those enrolled in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. Online students and students attending classes through Extended Studies or Florida Tech University Online do not meet the eligibility requirements.

Campus life

Campus Services' mission is to serve the needs of the campus - striving to provide quality services that enhance the living/learning environment for students, guests, and other members of the campus community.

The campus is located very close to the Indian River, the Atlantic Ocean and is less than an hour from Kennedy Space Center.

Sports facilities

Florida Tech Athletics consists of 22 intercollegiate sports, a cheerleading team and the Panther Pep Band. Women’s sports include basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track & field and volleyball. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, football, lacrosse, rowing, soccer, swimming, tennis and track & field. Football kicked off its inaugural season in fall 2013. Women’s lacrosse will begin in fall 2014.

The Office of Student Activities makes it easy for you to use and develop your talents through Student Activities. Getting involved on campus helps you build career and personal skills that will assist you long after you leave college. You will meet new people, share ideas, and learn more about yourself.


Florida Institute of Technology is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, education specialist and doctoral degrees.
