History
The Vita-Salute San Raffaele University was inaugurated in 1996 with its Psychology course, soon followed by the courses of Medicine, in 1998, and Philosophy, in 2002. Since its establishment, the University has been characterized by a strong integration of teaching and research, in each of its facets: basic, philosophical and social.
Education
The teaching and practice of humanistic medicine is central to San Raffaele’s mission. We are recognized as providers of exceptional primary care, as well as of tertiary and quaternary services that attract patients, faculty and students from near and far. Our campus includes a School of Psychology, a School of Philosophy, a College for Allied Health Professions, an Internationally recognized Research Institute, a Science Park and a 1,300 bed hospital in Milan

Housing services
Vita-Salute San Raffaele University has two dedicated student halls called Cascina Melghera and Cassinella which are newly reconstructed typical Lombardy farmhouses offering private bedrooms and common rooms for studying together and for living the exciting experience of being part of the Cascina Community and family thus enriching their involvement at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
The University also provides information for finding accommodation in the surrounding area.
Library services
Situated on the first floor of the DIBIT building, the library has a large and luminous consultation hall, posts for on-line research and, thanks to the so-called “open shelf” collocation, permits direct access to the material available to every user. There are 40,000 volumes of periodicals and over 400 active subscriptions. The monographic collection amounts to around 6,000 volumes.
ICT services
The personal of the ICT office of the University is at the disposal of the students to solve any internet access problem. The students also have three classrooms with computers.

Sports facilities
The UniSR sports club are a great way to compete and meet new friends in a more relaxed, welcoming environment. Club teams include soccer, rugby, basketball, volley, Tennis and running. In addition to regular team sports , UniSR offers the opportunity to practice indoor climbing, cheerleading, chess and special events where you can practice, play, and participate to many activities
Student clubs
Extracurricular activities are a main part of the UniSR experience. They create unique opportunities for friendship and learning.
There are many student associations. It is possible to join one of the student association or to create a new club with the help and coordination of a specific service in UniSR (Live Campus Service)

The University courses are accredited by the Italian Ministry of University and Research through the Italian Accrediting Agency ANVUR.
The Medical School is listed in the World Health Organization and enjoys recognition of the the British General Medical Council and by the US Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG®).

Beautiful Setting for a University
I would recommend it for the Labs, where you can get your hands "dirty". Venice is the most beautful city in the world :) and I think is full of opportunities for students, but sometimes you have to be curious and look outside your uni. Maybe having a hobby or volounteering could help.
