History
Shenyang Advanced Vocational School, the predecessor of QUST, was founded in 1950, and moved to Qingdao in 1956. It was renamed Qingdao Institute of Chemical Technology under the approval of the MOE in 1984.

QUST has 3 first-level disciplines authorized to offer PhD and 22 second-level PhD disciplines, 5 postdoctoral research stations, 19 first-level disciplines authorized to offer master’s degree and 97 second-level master degree disciplines, 7 professional master degree programs, 12 master degree of engineering programs and 72 undergraduate programs.
