History
In 1953, a group of Christian educators and local gentries got together to establish an agricultural and engineering college in Taiwan to train science and engineering talent in the Christian spirit. After several name changes and long preparations, the Chung Yuan Christian College of Science and Engineering (CYCC) was established in October 1955 upon approval by the Ministry of Education.

Research
The Committee for Research and Development of CYCU was founded in August, 1973. The Office of Research and Development is established in 1995, based on the mission of “coordinating and integrating resources for research and planning the university’s long-term future development”. In Dec, 2016, due to the restriction of the administrative units, the office extended to four divisions, namely, University Planning & Development Division, Research Services Division, Competitiveness Development Center and i Campus Center. The office also established the Tai-Chang Equipment Center.
Career
To implement the school mission of "To exert students' potential to the full is success," the Office of Career Development is responsible for implementing relevant policies of the Industrial College. We are dedicated to knowledge-action Integration and career services. With the industrial resources, we strive to prepare students to be workforce ready by providing practical programs including Interdisciplinary Programs, Employment Programs, internship and Career Services. In addition, strong relationships with industries are also built, and external resources are provided from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Labor.

Library services
The Chang Ching Yu Memorial Library is one of the most prominent buildings on campus. The entire library currently houses over 813,000 volumes of books and audio-visual materials, 1,094 current journals and serials, as well as extensive electronic resources to support teaching, learning, and research.
ICT services
All faculty and staff members may freely use the Office`s facilities with the approval of their respective supervisor. The Office has also organized student-aide consulting groups providing services and assistance to all users. A library with quite a variety of manuals and reference volumes for computational work is available in the Office.
Sports facilities
Sports are very popular on campus. The university has well-equipped venues and facilities as well as abundant teaching and learning resources. We provide a variety of programs which focus on cultivating athletic spirits and the interaction between students and teachers. The courses are carefully designed to emphasize health, adaptation, and creative teaching methods.
