History

DePaul was founded in 1898 by the Congregation of the Mission (or Vincentian) religious community, which follows the teachings of 17th-century French priest St. Vincent de Paul. The university’s mission emphasizes academic excellence, community service, access to education and respect for the individual.

Education

DePaul has more than 300 undergraduate majors and graduate programs, so chances are good we have what you're looking for. Many of our professors work in Chicago as consultants, researchers and entrepreneurs, and incorporate their experiences in the classroom.

Our professors and students work to find solutions and answers to a range of challenges and questions and to make a lasting impact. Research at DePaul is happening in every discipline from biology to music. Services

Student services

International Student and Scholar Services is committed to providing quality advising services to international students and scholars at DePaul University. ISS provides immigration advising to more than 1,500 non-immigrant students and scholars in F-1 and J-1 visa statuses.

Housing services

Your college experience is about more than just classes, lab sessions, papers and exams. One of the most exciting parts is the opportunity to live on your own. Our on-campus dorms, suites and apartments are comfortable, spacious and full of students like you — giving you an instant sense of community when you walk through the door.

Library services

The DePaul University Library is a critical feature of the educational landscape at DePaul and is committed to supporting goals shared across academic libraries as well as goals distinct to the mission of DePaul University.

ICT services

DePaul classroom, lab, and office computer models have standard software installed for use by faculty, staff, and students. In addition to the standard software already installed on University computers, DePaul has also licensed other software titles for employees to use on DePaul-owned computers.

Medical services

AMITA Sage Medical Group (AMITA) is a community health care provider with an office conveniently located directly adjacent to DePaul’s Lincoln Park campus on Fullerton Ave.

  • Lincoln Park Campus

Lincoln Park is a residential and retail center, bordered by Lake Michigan and a huge park (think the size of 900 football fields, 14 Portillo's restaurants and an Intelligentsia coffee shop). This is an eclectic and lively neighborhood.

  • Loop Campus

The Loop is the city's largest business district. It’s called "the Loop" because of the elevated train tracks that circle the area, allowing for easy access not only to classrooms but all that downtown has to offer.
