Chonnam National University (CNU) set sail in Gwanjgu, at the center of the Honam region on June 9, 1952. The university emerged from the ashes of the Korean War with the support of local citizens who wanted to foster talented students. Even though CNU was established only about 60 years ago, it is celebrating more than 100 years of tradition because of the schools that were merged under CNU.

I am currently studying at Kangwon National University as a GKS scholar, and my experience so far has been quite positive. The university offers a strong academic environment with a growing focus on global convergence, digital innovation, and research-based learning. The professors are supportive, and there are opportunities to engage in diverse academic and extracurricular activities. What I appreciate most is the balance between academic rigor and practical exposure, especially in areas related to technology and global studies. The campus environment is peaceful and student-friendly, which makes it easier to focus on personal growth and studies. As an international student from Bangladesh, I have also found it to be a place where I can build cross-cultural connections and expand my global perspective. Overall, I would recommend Kangwon National University to students who are looking for a meaningful academic experience in South Korea.
