History
On May 28, 1878, Emperor Alexander II signed a decree on the establishment of the first and only higher education institution in the vast expanses from the Russian Urals to the Pacific Ocean – the Siberian Imperial University in Tomsk.

TSU International Student Centre will help students maximize their social and educational benefits and experience of study and life at TSU. Housing services
National Research Tomsk State University opened one of the largest students' residence halls in the city (1,200 places).
Our students are provided with comfortable environment for living: dining rooms, kitchens, sports and laundry rooms, all the necessary social infrastructure. The hostel is divided into sections, you will share a room with one or two more students. There is a hallway, a bathroom and a shower in every room. In the spacious hall there is a place for self-study, relax and socializing.
Library services
Tomsk State University Research Library will take part for the fourth time in the All-Russian activity Library Night. On 22 April from 20.00 to 23.00, visitors will have traditional tour of the robot scanner and restorers of books, and also have new sites, workshops, meetings, and quests.

TSU Assembly Hall – famous for its perfect acoustics – hosts concerts of classical music. The Concert Hall placed in the Center of Culture is the stage for different performances of TSU theatrical societies, student performances and guest performances.

Student clubs
The University is home to a branch of Rotary Club International and other local student volunteers' clubs actively participating in the life of the city and the University. The International Division supports English, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and German student language clubs.
