History
The University of Tunis El Manar is a public administrative institution created in 1987 under the name of University of sciences, technologies and medicine of Tunis by Article 97 of Act No.87-83 of 31 December1987.

Student services
Foreign students are eligible to enroll in public institutions according to quota scheme and agreements made with their countries of origin. The General Directorate of International Cooperation is solely responsible for reviewing foreign students’ applications as well as their eligibility to enroll in the various public institutions.
Housing services
Requirements :
- To be a graduating bachelor and be admitted into one of the public higher education institutions.
- Parents Residence must be 30 km away from the city in which the student will pursue higher education.
Medical services
The management board of school and university medicine provides first aid guides and intervention aid in case of emergencies as well as medical and psychological services in academic institutions within the University of Tunis El Manar.
Sports facilities
- Personal training : UTM offers students the opportunity to participate in a training supervised by teachers on an annual program proposed by the regional delegation of Youth and Culture of Tunis. Several activities include: Swimming, tennis , dancing, aerobics, basketball and football on a scheduled basis at the beginning of each academic year.
- Team sports : UTM students can also be part of a university sports team with licenses to legally join and participate in competitions in inter-intra institutions and even compete on an international level.
