China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), a joint-venture for management education, was co-founded by the Chinese government and European Union (EU) in 1994, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the EFMD serving as its executive partners.
CEIBS offers MBA, Finance MBA, EMBA, Global EMBA, Hospitality EMBA, Executive Education and PhD programmes. Renowned for its academic rigour, CEIBS is the first business school on the Chinese mainland to have been accredited by both EQUIS and AACSB and the only business school in Asia to have simultaneously made it to the Financial Times’ top 5 list of MBA and EMBA programmes.
The Career Development Centre (CDC) is dedicated to bridging companies with MBA graduates. We help students identify career interest and develop a career plan. We also facilitate various activities to enhance communication between companies and students. As an advisor to MBA participants, one of CDC’s main responsibilities is to help students find their career instead of landing a job.
Career counselling is offered to students on an individual basis. CDC consultants provide personalised advice and help students identify strengths and weaknesses, develop career strategy and planning, as well as improve job-searching skills such as résumé composition and interview.
The school's five student residences provide a comfortable housing for almost 300 students living on campus. Each room is equipped with a telephone, computer network connections, a satellite TV hook-up, and a private bathroom.
The CEIBS Library is a small, modern and academic library which provides high-quality collections and services for teaching, research and learning. We have two libraries, one at each campus.
Our libraries contain over 57,000 Chinese and English books, approximately 192 print journals and about 2,100 visual materials.
CEIBS became the first business school in mainland China with its own campus when it established a facility in Shanghai’s Pudong district in 1994. In 2013, the school opened Phase III of this main campus in Shanghai. The expansion doubled the size of the campus to a total floor area of approximately 84,000 square metres. CEIBS also has campuses in Beijing, Shenzhen, Zurich and Accra (see details below).
CEIBS’ main Shanghai campus was designed by world-renowned architects Pei Cobb Freed and Partners; and the school’s architectural style combines Western architecture with the subtlety of Chinese beauty and grace.
The gymnasium offers an appealing two-level, air conditioned facility. Offering a broad range of fitness equipment, it accommodates both novice and experienced athletes with treadmills, stationary bicycles, and weight training equipment. Table tennis and basketball courts are also available at the gymnasium.
CEIBS boasts the largest alumni network among business schools in mainland China. At the end of November 2014, the school's Alumni Association represented over 16,000 alumni of CEIBS and its predecessor CEMI, and increases its roster by roughly 1,500 fresh graduates yearly. Alumni form a very strong element of the school community, and play a variety of roles in the development of the school. At the end of November 2014, the Alumni Association had established 60 regional chapters in China and beyond. Meanwhile, there are 60 alumni clubs that cater to alumni's personal interests and career focus.
In the 25 years since its launch, the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) has solidified its reputation as the leading international business school in Asia. CEIBS is the first business school on the Chinese mainland to have been accredited by both EQUIS and AACSB and the only business school in Asia to have simultaneously made it to the Financial Times’ top 5 list of MBA and EMBA programmes.
